Brekky: Like a broken record... 2 x toasts, no WAIT!!! I HAD coco pops, not much better but at least it wasn't BREAD!
Lunch: Watermelon, LOTS! And a cup of soup, one of the low calorie ones.
Tea: Pizza hut... it was horrible, all of it. I love pizza but this was horrible. New owners, terrible food, just horrible. Coke was flat and warm, pizzas were all the same and tasted HORRIBLE! Salad looked like it had been sitting in there for days. Never going back... ick.
Confessions: None, that's all I ate! Drank water for the rest of the day!
I'm watching American Idol auditions on austar at the moment and some of these people really make my ears hurt!
Well, back onto the topic of choice... I read this really good tip today, and though I don't have a daughter I think I could adapt the concept to myself!
"My New Year's resolution was the same every year - lose weight and improve my health and fitness... I was determined that 2009 would be different so came up with a new fitness regime which suits my lifestyle and budget down to the ground. Instead of paying $743 for an annual gym membership, now every day my daughter and I do something different:
Monday- Bike Riding - We go and ride our bikes on the local bike track... This allows me to get a great cardio workout while teaching her balance, improving her riding confidence.
Tuesday- Obstacle Course - I bet you've never looked at the local park in this light but that's exactly what it is! Chasing kids, climbing ladders... is an all over bodyworkout...
Wednesday- Aqua Aerobics - I was paying $14 for one Aqua Aerobics session a week ($728 a year) but we've just discovered our local continental pools which are not only heated all year round but are FREE. My daughter and I play tag in the shallow end... Not only is this burning calories but it has improved my daughter's swimming.
Thursday- Running - We bought a giant bubble blower for $5.00 at the school fete! Armed with this and a bottle of cheap detergent we head down to the park and take it inturns to blow bubbles while the other person chases them. You would be surprised how much this gets the heart rate up - I never fail to work up a sweat!
Friday- Workout Video - We got a stack of old workout videos from the op shop for around $10. We've got yoga, aerobics, light weights and even some old music videos. Every weekmy daughter chooses one and we do it together in the lounge room. The varietykeeps her interested and they also come in handy in the wet weather (the music videos are especially fun as it gives you an opportunity to get dressedup like rock stars and dance up a storm)!"
What a good bunch of ideas! They obviously work for her, but I'm not sure I could chase bubbles around a park on my own, I may look slightly crazy... but now I have made a challenge to myself, to think up something like that that suits me for each of the week days!
Oh, and Loubie, what do you think about "Junk Free Mondays"?
